EXPOSURE is the Institute for Global Leadership's Center for Photojournalism, Human Rights, and Documentary Studies at Tufts University. Dedicated to mentoring and developing young, knowledgeable photojournalists and documentary filmmakers, it is allied with the preeminent photographers of the VII Photo Agency and other distinguished journalists. Exposure has run documentary photojournalism workshops in several countries from Argentina to Cambodia, published books and supported folios with the renowned de.MO publishers, mounted exhibitions, and probed the ethical and educational challenges of the media's role in bringing important social and international issues to the public's attention.

With its first-ever local workshop, EXPOSURE Boston has provided eight students with the opportunity to report on urban issues in their own city under the mentorship of independent journalist Jim MacMillan. His expertise comes from 17 years as a photographer for The Philadelphia Daily News, one year as Baghdad Staff Photographer for the Associated Press, where he also did some editing. Focusing locally has in many ways been a greater challenge to students than reporting internationally and the result is a collection of work that documents several facets of life in Boston.
